VAULT explores a darker expression of South Asian occasion-wear, where bridal opulence, modern masculinity and after-hours glamour meet.
THE PROJECT
After Dark was conceived by VAULT as an exploration of what happens when the familiar codes of South Asian bridal fashion are taken out of their expected setting and given a sharper, more editorial identity.
Bridal and groomswear by Arinder Bhullar form the foundation of the story. Intricate gold embroidery, sweeping lehenga silhouettes and richly worked menswear are photographed against London's imposing architecture, where direct light and deep shadow give traditional craftsmanship an altogether different mood.
Jewellery by Kyle’s Collection, available at Arinder Bhullar, adds another layer of ornamentation. Rather than treating the pieces simply as finishing touches, jewellery becomes part of the styling language - catching the light, framing the face and punctuating the richness of the garments.
For VAULT, the project was also an opportunity to place its talent within a fully considered fashion environment: one where the model is expected not simply to wear an extraordinary garment, but to understand it, respond to it and ultimately help sell the fantasy around it.
THE TALENT
VAULT cast Allysa T, Stefani K and Dhilan K, bringing together three models with distinctly different presences.
Allysa's feather-trimmed look introduces a softer sensuality to the story, requiring confidence without losing the delicacy of the silhouette. Stefani's heavily embellished bridal look demands a different kind of restraint; the scale and intricacy of the lehenga already command attention, leaving the model to bring elegance and composure rather than compete with it.
Dhilan provides the counterpoint. Styled in black beneath an intricately embroidered Arinder Bhullar jacket, traditional groomswear is approached with a more relaxed masculinity - open neckline, fluid proportions and an ease that shifts the look away from ceremony and towards fashion.
Together, the three create the strongest expression of the story: not bride, groom and wedding party, but three individual fashion characters occupying the same world.
THE VAULT DIRECTION
Under the Creative Direction of Mirza Miah, After Dark was built around contrast: black against gold, structure against softness, heritage against modernity and the intricacy of South Asian craftsmanship against the severity of the London surroundings.
Shiv Rura's styling pushed the Arinder Bhullar pieces beyond conventional bridal presentation, while jewellery from Kyle's Collection was layered into the looks to amplify rather than simply accessorise them. Lima Artistry's hair and makeup completed the transformation, maintaining the polish associated with occasion-wear while giving each model an editorial finish.
VAULT's direction continued in front of the camera. The models were worked with individually on posture, expression, garment awareness and the subtle differences required when moving between portraiture, full-length fashion imagery and group compositions.

THE OUTCOME
The finished editorial does more than document the clothes. It demonstrates how a strong creative framework can change the way both fashion and talent are perceived.
For Allysa, Stefani and Dhilan, the project created portfolio imagery with a clear fashion identity while developing their ability to work with heavily embellished garments, jewellery, strong directional lighting and multi-model compositions.
For VAULT, After Dark reflects a wider approach to model management: creating opportunities for talent to develop in environments that mirror the expectations of professional fashion productions, while bringing together designers, creatives and models to produce work with a distinct point of view.
Because development is not separate from the work. The work is part of the development.
